IoT for a better Sweden

IoT Sweden is a national initiative to make Sweden a leading force in the usage of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT Sweden is a Strategic innovation program. The Strategic innovation programmes are funded by government research councils Vinnova, The Swedish Energy Agency and Formas.


What is IoT?

The term IoT, the Internet of Things, stands for the networking of machines, vehicles, goods, clothing and much more, equipped with small embedded sensors and processors. These objects can communicate with their environment and adapt to it. They become parts of smart, attractive and helpful environments, goods, and services.


What is IoT Sweden?

IoT Sweden finance innovative projects in IoT. In the next two years, IoT Sweden will work with the Internet of Things for innovative societal development.

What’s it like when IT and the Internet of Things move into public healthcare? The researcher Andres Laya has investigated the interaction between IT companies and the public healthcare systems. The starting point for companies is often that IoT is used to streamline and save money.
