About IoT Sweden

IoT Sweden – a strategic innovation programme

IoT Sweden is a strategic innovation programme. The Strategic innovation programmes are funded by government research councilsVinnova,The Swedish Energy AgencyandFormas. The objective is to create a foundation for competitive and sustainable solutions to society’s challenges. The ambition with IoT Sweden is to fund innovation in a ten year period.

IoT for society

IoT Sweden works within the Swedish national agenda for Internet of Things (in english). As IoT is an area in rapid development IoT Sweden has to adapt it’s resources to reach maximum effect. Since 2016 IoT Sweden focuses on IoT for an innovative society, incooperation with public organisations, businesses and scientists.

Organisation

The innovation program IoT Sweden consists of a board, members, a number of projects and a supporting program office. The program office is located at the Ångström laboratory, Uppsala University. The office works to gather actors, increase interactions between stakeholders and finance innovation projects in the area of ​​IoT. As a member, you can participate in and influence the direction of IoT Sweden, join the board, and get information about activities organised by IoT Sweden. Activities

The program office works, more or less, with three different types of activities:

Seminars and meetings

IoT Sweden highlights various aspects of IoT and its possibilities and challenges. Each year we organise several seminars and meetings with different themes within the IoT areas. Here we gather stakeholders and initiate collaborations.

Calls for proposals, innovation projects

IoT Sweden supports Vinnova in formulating and designing call for proposals for innovation projects in the field of IoT. The projects financed in the different calls are focusing on IoT for an innovative society development.

Strategic innovation projects

Through analyses and monitoring of the IoT area IoT Sweden recommends Vinnova to finance a small number of projects of importance for the IoT development in Sweden.
